There is an old story told among farmers about the need for patience. One farmer got tired of waiting for his crops to grow. So he decided one morning to go around and stretch out all the crops on his farm. The joke, of course, is that stretching crops kills them. There is no way to hurry their growth process.
So it is with us in discipleship. To grow with Jesus and his church requires patience, time, effort. But applying those things in equal measure, plus the blessing of the Holy Spirit, will bring about our growth in maturity in Christ.
Please join us for worship, study, service, and mission. There is no way around bodily presence and face-to-face relationship for our growth—there is no way to stretch that crop.
