Local Missions

Boone United Methodist serves people in need in Watauga County through various ongoing local missions programs.

Threads of Faith Ministry

Providing prayer shawls and lap robes to those who are ill, Linus blankets and baby hats for newborns at Watauga Medical Center, and caps for cancer patients. Baby blankets are also created for newborns in our church family.

The Firewood Ministry

Church members provide firewood free of charge to over twenty families and individuals in Watauga County. Wood is available for pick-up or delivery.

Fresh Produce/Food Assistance

Church members of all ages tend to the produce garden at the church to provide fresh organic vegetables to area food pantries and people in need. In addition, church members glean from the Saturday Watauga County Farmers Market and bring the produce to area food pantries.

Skilled Home Repair

Church members with experience in the construction field, offer their time and skills to people in need in Watauga County through home repairs.

Elderly Outreach

Church members visit various elderly community members that are shut-ins, often sharing meals.

Food Assistance Outreach

On Thursday evenings from 5:00pm-6:00pm we partner with Green Street Catering and serve FREE take-out meals to anyone who is in need. We are currently serving several families from one of our local schools, as well as several folks who live in one of our communities.

Habitat for Humanity

Every third Saturday of the month church members volunteer with Habitat for Humanity in Boone to work on constructing new homes for those in need.
