Boone United Methodist Women will be accepting applications for educational scholarships awarded for post high school education needs. There are no restrictions based on the age, race, religion, or gender of applicants and funds can be used for any accredited colleges or technical institutions. The amount of each scholarship will range from 500 dollars to 1,000 dollars depending on need. Announcements of awards will be made by May 1, 2013. Funds will be distributed directly to the institutions in a timely manner. Applications are available in the church office or can be downloaded from this website.
Criteria
Applicants must be a resident of Watauga County and/or a member of BUMC and must demonstrate financial need. Applications must be submitted to BUMC church office, 471 New Market Blvd, Boone, N.C. 28607, ATTN: Jennifer Whittington. The deadline for applications is March 27th.

The Boone United Methodist Women’s Educational Scholarship Fund was established in 1997 by Methodist women at BUMC to assist deserving applicants with their educational needs at post high school levels.
This scholarship fund is endowed and can be enhanced by contributions, memorials, and honoraria. Mrs. Mary Louise Roberts serves as treasurer of the fund and can receive gifts and donations payable to BUMW Education Scholarship Fund at PO Box 3702, Boone, N.C., 28607.
