Now accepting registration for the 2014 summer program.
Registration
Spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and payment is required at time of enrollment. The registration fee is a one-time-only fee to be added to your payment total for all weeks that you indicate your child will attend. Our summer program is for children ages 2 to 5 years old. Only two-year-olds who have been previously enrolled in the preschool may attend.
Daily Operation
Summer preschool is held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings. Preschool begins at 9:00 am and ends at 12:00 pm. Parents are asked to use the sign in/sign out sheet every day. Children must be promptly picked up by a parent or other designated adult by 12:00 pm. A late fee will be assessed for a child picked up after 12:10.
The theme for the summer is “God’s People Do Many Jobs.” Each week, crafts, stories, and activities will focus on Bible characters who can be identified by their profession or role, such as David, the shepherd; Joseph, the carpenter; Martha, who cooked and served; and others.
Health and Safety
No one will be allowed to pick up any child without the written consent of the parent or guardian.
According to health regulations, the preschool cannot apply sunscreen to children. Please apply sunscreen to your child before bringing him or her to school.
Any child who has had a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other contagious illness in the previous 24 hours should remain home. Any child who is not able to participate in all activities should remain home.
Lunch
Each child should bring a nutritious lunch and a water bottle. We prefer that dessert not be included with lunch. Please do not send whole grapes or other foods which could present a choking hazard. Lunches cannot be heated.
Attire
If weather permits, each Wednesday during the summer session will be designated as “Swim Day.” We will play in the sprinkler and at the water table outside. Please send your child in a bathing suit with regular clothes over the suit and pack a change of clothes and a bath sized towel labeled with your child’s name. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen!
For all other days, we recommend that you let your child “dress for mess.” We will often be painting or having some other type of messy activity. Children should wear shoes they can run in (no Crocs or flip flops). If they bring a pair of shoes to change to, it should be a pair they can put on and fasten themselves.
We’re excited about the Summer Session and look forward to your joining us! For more information, please contact Boone United Methodist Preschool at 828-264-6092.
