Brandon began serving as Pastor of our Blackburn’s Chapel campus and Abbott/Director of The Blackburn House in July of 2014. Previously he served as an intern for Blackburn’s Chapel and The Blackburn House. Brandon has recently been named Executive Director of the Blackburn House.

Brandon expresses his passion for the ministries of reconciliation and justice through partnering with people in cultivating loving relationships with God, themselves and others. Brandon has served as a campus minister at UNC Chapel Hill and with InterVarsity at the University of Chicago. Prior to his time at Boone UMC, he served as Director of Christian Education at Martin Temple AME Zion Church in Chicago.

Brandon is completing a Master of Divinity degree at North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago and earned his Bachelor’s in Religious Studies from UNC Chapel Hill. Prior to responding to the call to vocational ministry, Brandon worked for several years in sales in the Raleigh-Durham area. Brandon is also involved with the Christian Community Development Association and edits their theological journal. In his free time he enjoys sports (especially college basketball – GO TARHEELS!), listening to underground and classic hip-hop albums, collecting classic sneakers, reading and writing, good conversations and hanging with friends and family. Brandon is married to Erica and they have a son, Phillip.
