Jeff began serving as Pastor of Congregational Care in June of 2012. Previously, he served as pastor to Blackburn’s Chapel, our satellite campus in Todd, NC.

In his current role as Pastor of Discipleship & Spiritual Formation, Jeff connects people to God and each other as they learn to live as disciples of Jesus. He is excited to help people discern how God is at work in their lives not only through the good times but in difficult situations as well. Prior to his time at BUMC, Jeff served as a chaplain at a number of hospitals in the Chicago area.

Jeff earned his Masters of Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago and his Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan. Before responding to God’s call to vocational ministry, Jeff worked for 9 years as a software engineer in Colorado and a manufacturing manager in his home state of Michigan. Jeff enjoys music, sports, reading, and spending time with his family. Jeff and Carrie met and were married while in seminary in 2008. They have two daughters, Emma and Anne, a son James, and a dog, Miles.
