Dana Davis
Director of Music and the Arts
Dana Davis came to Boone United Methodist Church in December of 2012. She has been in music all of her life, serving churches and schools in Ft. Lauderdale, working with Lees-McRae Summer Theatre and at Crossnore Academy.
Dana has directed numerous productions including “Annie jr.”, “Godspell”, “Annie Get Your Gun”, “Our Town” and has served a music director and principal keyboardist for shows that include “Children of Eden”, “Rags”, “The Music Man” and many others. She has performed with groups and soloists from S. Florida to North Carolina. Dana has also worked Janet Speer and Lees-McRae Summer Theatre as musical director and principal keyboard.
Dana has re-energized the Children’s Musical Opportunities at Boone UMC by developing new choirs, theatrical experiences and tone chimes. Her energy inspires people to become involved with the fun and exciting world of music & theatre which adds immensely to the worship experience. The Chancel Choir continues to be an integral part of Sunday services and has even added theatrical aspects to their holiday presentations.
Dana loves spending time with her husband, Todd, and their 2 dogs, Vinny & Bruno; 5 cats, Enya, Maureen, Maryah, Marva, and Mousti; and numerous birds in their yard. She loves making special homemade dog ice creams for her “boys” and suet for the winged creatures God sends to her yard! Dana is proud of her family: son Mason; daughter Marisa and son-in-law Jason, and grandchildren Ethan, Violet, and Taylor. Thank you, Boone United Methodist Church, for your continued support!
