Many of us look for a good book or two to accompany us on vacation or to occupy our imaginations during the long days of summer. So this summer, Boone UMC will be reading through the book of Acts. TheActs of the Apostlesis a theological story thatdepicts how the earliest Christians made sense of what God had done in Christ Jesus, how that was in continuity with what God had been doing in and through Israel, and how the earliest of Christ’s followers would sort out living life together as Church.
Acts is an adventure filled with arguments and debates, miraculous conversions, martyrdom, storms,shipwrecks, imprisonments, and theamazing beginnings of the Church. Our series, Summer Reading, will begin Sunday, June 4th and run for 11 weeks. A reading plan will be available to guide your daily or weekly reading.
