New Study Opportunities
“Strange Light, Unexpected Friends”
Beginning on January 22, art will be displayed in the church around the theme “Strange Light, Unexpected Friends,” with art by students from ASU. Professor Lillian Nave Goudas will also be teaching a Sunday School class on how Christians engage art on January 29 and February 12 in the chapel. A reception for these artists, including original musical pieces, will be held on Wednesday evening, February 1 at 6:30 p.m.
We are blessed to have these artists as our guests. All are invited to attend and enjoy this wonderful opportunity.
“Jesus and Darwin”
Pastor Byassee and Dr. Scott St. Clair will teach this exciting class on February 12, 19 & 26, at 6:30 p.m. They will teach on theology and science generally and Christian faith and Darwinism specifically. Childcare available, reservations required.
“Women’s Book Discussion”
Join us as we review and discuss the book “7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess”, by Jen Hatmaker. A true story of how Jen took seven months, identified seven areas of excess and made seven choices to fight back against the modern-day diseases of greed, materialism and overindulgence. It is funny, raw and not a guilt trip in the making. So, what’s the payoff from living a deeply reduced life? It’s the discovery of a greatly increased God – a call toward Christ-like simplicity and generosity that transcends a social experiment.
