Solar Panel Project at Boone UMC

We are excited to announce that, through the support of the Endowment Team and Board of Trustees, Boone UMC has entered into an agreement with Collaborative Solar to install a 75-kilowatt solar system on the east side of the building, beginning June 12, 2026. A total of 168 panels will be installed as part of this system, which will provide approximately one-quarter of the church’s total energy consumption.

With electric power costs continuing to rise, this project positions us well for the future. Our long-term plan is to sell excess power back to our energy provider, New River Light and Power.
