Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant/Receptionist

Mon-Thurs 9-2
$18-$20/hour
Department: Office Administration
Reports To: Office Manager
Position Overview: This position is responsible for issuing weekly checks for church expenses, reconciling bank accounts and administrative duties as assigned, answering the phone.
Essential Job Functions:
• Bookkeeping
• Record all deposits.
• Sign all non-payroll checks in conjunction with a second signer.
• Keep accurate records of all church expenditures.
• Work with Business Administrator to repare financial reports for the finance committee and other committee chairs.
• Prepare checks for church expenses and obligations.
• Prepare checks for special situations.
• Prepare reimbursement checks upon approval of Office Manager.
• Reconcile and balance church checking and savings accounts with Church accountant.
• Create spreadsheets for financial reports.
• Other duties as assigned.
Administrative Duties:
• Oversee phone answering and monitor effectiveness of volunteers in this area.
• Assist volunteers when needed.
• Take care of mail distribution.
• Greet vendors, visitors and agents in absence of Business Manager.
• Direct custodial staff in Business Manager’s absence.
• Other duties as assigned.
Physical Job Requirements:
• Sitting for long periods of times (90% of day), requiring visual and mental attention
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
• Accounting experience
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Expertise in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, Excel
