New Series: Pathways

New Series: Pathways

A woman with blonde hair and blue eyes.We are unveiling our new logo and graphic identity! The circles around the logo echo our beloved dove window in the sanctuary and the various ways into the circle show our openness as a church. The mountains and colors suggest our natural environment. The cross-shape through and up the mountains suggest Jesus’ way of discipleship.

New Series: The Body of Christ

New Series: The Body of Christ

A woman with blonde hair and blue eyes.

The body of Christ is mysterious and wonderful. The church has traditionally spoken of Christ’s body having three forms: the body that was born of the Virgin Mary and died on the cross for us. His body is the gathered body of the church. Jesus’s body is also the bread and wine on the altar, broken and poured out for us. These three are actually one, in ways far beyond our understanding. When St. Augustine invited his church to communion in 5th century North Africa he said, “Come and receive what you are.”

Our bodies are also mysterious and wonderful. We know what a body is by looking first at the body of Christ, and then catching the delight God has in his Son’s body. This preaching series, starting May 31 and ending June 28, will look at the mysteries and wonders of Christ’s body and of ours. We’ll conclude on June 28 with a combined service and meal afterwards.

Come and be more deeply who you already are: the one body of Jesus.
