Community Engagement and Missions

There is a clear pattern throughout scriptures: God cares for the poor, the suffering, the orphans, the widows, the foreigners, and he expects His people to do the same. We see commandments in the Old Testament to care for those in need, we see Christ came to proclaim the good news to the poor, and we see the early church rapidly responding to the needs of those in their community.

At Boone United Methodist Church, we are striving to serve those in need in Watauga County, the United States, and throughout the World. Join us in bringing relief, rehabilitation, restoration, and development to those in need, so that the good news of the gospel might be known to all.Explore more about our work with local missions, international missions, and faith promise missions by clicking the links in the missions menu above.

The Great Commission

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 28:16-20

The Greatest Commandment

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.
Matthew 22:37-40
