Project Agape
Nara Melkonyan, the In-country Director for Project Agape in Armenia, will be with us at Boone UMC on Monday, June 22 at 10:00 am in Room 200 to share powerful updates on our shared ministry in Vayk, Armenia.
Project AGAPE is a joint humanitarian ministry formed more than 33 years ago by our Western North Carolina Conference, the North Carolina Conference, and the Armenian Apostolic Church. For three decades, our Conference has faithfully sent material goods, mission teams, and financial support to the oldest Christian nation in the world.
Currently, the ministry’s focus is in Vayk, Armenia, where Nara and our dedicated staff work tirelessly to support many of the 120,000 displaced Armenians who have been forced to flee their homes due to recent wars. Project Agape provides daily essentials—like clothing, bedding, and Christmas shoeboxes— as well as compassionate care. In addition, a Vocational Training Center recently opened to teach displaced individuals cosmetology, computer skills, and sewing so they can build sustainable futures.
We hope you can join us on June 22 to learn about the life-changing difference Project AGAPE is making.
